and the detail is amazing. Even with Spring reluctantly emerging, the outdoor sculptures are

always ready for a visit.

Our April showers have produced our May flowers here in West Michigan.

Just in time for Holland’s Tulip Festival. If you would like to see acres of

blooming tulips, head over to Holland, a mere 30-45 minutes away. Lots

of fun festivities planned for this weekend.

These unusual sculptures at the Frederick Meijer Sculpture Park look troubled.

Maybe they were looking for Spring in Michigan on the Vernal Equinox. ( sigh)

West Michigan White Caps Start 2012 Season

The West Michigan White Caps start their summer season

with their opening day on Monday, April 9th. It isn’t that far

away and would be a great outing for Spring Break Week.

They have many promotions and specials going on, so don’t delay,

if baseball is your passion, get your tickets now.

The opening night match is with the Bowling Green Hotrods at 6 pm.

Changes at the Fifth Third Ball Park Food Booths this year:

The winner of the White Caps Food Contest this year is the West

Side Po’ Boy, which is kielbasa, pierogies, and sauerkraut covered

in marinara sauce and loaded on a hoagie bun.

The famous Fifth Third monster burger, a four pound, 5000 calorie

colossus is still a main attraction. In addition this year, are giant

smoked turkey legs, perogies, Salsalitos, gluten free hot dogs,

Pickle Chips, and Deviled Eggs. On the suite level, Lobster Rolls and

BBQ ribs will be available.

4th Annual Bands on the Grand Festival

Saturday March 3, 2012 six different bands will perform at

Eastern High School’s Forest Hills Adult Community 4th Annual

Bands on the Grand Festival. The Forest Hills Adult Community

Band is hosting this free event.

The music will start at 9 am at Eastern High School Auditorium

and continues until 5:30 pm. Food and beverage concessions are

available. Handicap accessible seating is available. Bring

your friends and family for a great Saturday of concert band music.

Cereal City Concert Band ( Battle Creek)
West Michigan Concert Winds ( Muskegon)
Blue Lake International Alumni Band
Saginaw Area Concert Band
Coopersville Community Concert Band
Forest Hills Adult Community Band

at the Grand Haven pier. On a beautiful summer evening last September,

we watched the sun slowly disappear over the horizon. One of nature’s

most pleasing spectacles that we never tire of viewing.

Museum Free 4 All is what the sponsors are calling it.

Four major museums in Grand Rapids will be open for free admission

on one Sunday per quarter in 2012. The Grand Rapids Art Museum,

The Public Museum of Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Children’s Museum,

and The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum are all participating.

The dates for free admission are:

Sunday January 22
Sunday April 15
Sunday July 15
Sunday October 21
